ON A PATH TO HEAL FROM FIBROIDS – AN EYE WITNESS’S ACCOUNT

By Rudo Hlahla.  Ndakadyei Machiri is a 36 year old Zimbabwean woman who was diagnosed of fibroids. Fibroids are a “benign smooth muscle tumours of the uterus.” Wikipedia. Symptoms includes heavy periods, low back pain during intercourse or menstrual periods, unusually frequent urination, infertility if fibroids are blocking the fallopian tubes, repeated miscarriages and constipation. The exact cause of fibroids is not clear but risk factors include obesity and eating red meat. Several medical and surgical options are available to treat or remove troublesome fibroids.
